Hope everyone had a wonderful day on the 4th.. We had a nice family day, for the most part just relaxing.. My girls did some fireworks at night that were fun, nothing big but they enjoyed it..
So the main reason I am posting is to share an awesome Blueberry Buckle cake that my daughter and her friend made yesterday..
It was a modified receipe that hubby found on All receipes and it was so delicous.. So wanted to share with you..
4th of July Blueberry Buckle Cake
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 to 1 1/2 cups milk - probably will be more towards 1 1/2 cups since batter is very thick
- 4 cups fresh blueberries – 5 cups is better!!!
- TOPPING:
- 2/3 cups sugar
- 2/3 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup cold butter
- Preheat over to about 375 degrees grease a 9 x 13 baking pan
- In a small mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in the eggs. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Fold in the blueberries. Pour into greased 9 x 13. baking pan.
- For topping, combine the sugar, brown sugar, flour and cinnamon in a bowl; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over blueberry mixture. Bake at 375 degrees F for 50 – 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
This was great served with some fresh whipped cream..

Finally the word is official..Starting tomorrow Price Chopper is now doubling manufacturer coupons up to .99 face value.. our PC used to only double up to .50 so this is just awesome..This is for all the Price Chopper stores..
This means..
.50 coupons are worth $1.00
.75 coupons are worth $1.50
.99 coupons are worth $1.98 (but have not see any of those)
1.00 still is only $1.00
But still all in all a great change….
Happy shopping!!!

Sorry I have been out touch the past short time but it’s been quite hectic with end of school and vacation time.. But had to tell you guys about my Price chopper shopping trip this past Wednesday.. I have to say with the exception of the one really great Rite aid trip this has been the best PC one yet… To start with the numbers.. all in all the total amount before coupons was $355, I saved a total of $196 leaving only $159 out of pocket, that was a total of 76% savings.. In that my two biggest saves was 14 boxes of Curad bandaids all for FREE, and 18 bottle of Pantene for only $9.00 that is only .50 per bottle. I really did not need any more cereal or yogurt, so did not do those deals, but was able to still get the $5 catalina coupon with buying some other really great deal items from general mills. So this whole thing was done in 9 transacations since PC does not allow you to use more than one of their store coupons, per item per transaction but it was still really easy.. after my first big order I did two additional ones with just bandaids(since they are also limited to 4 for doubling) and Pantene. Then did another one just slightly bigger since I wanted more of the life waters and used my $5.00 catalina plus I got another $1.50 catalina for Off on that order and did two more of just Pantene after that.. So that was 6, I also knew i was coming back up this way to pick up Pizza later in the day so I ran in just to get 6 more bottles of Pantene when I was up here.. I was really excited with all the savings and hope I can do this again and even better.. Happy shopping to all.. and please post your great savings too..

Well looking over my sale paper for Price Chopper there really is only a couple good things I am looking at this week.. the steak on sale is nice and some of the fruit, but coupon wise don’t really have much to use…Hoping that the sales that come out for memorial day are better so I am going to save most my shopping for Sun or Monday..
Also really bummed about the Rite aid thing, did you see that they instead of giving good up+ discounts they say look for the coupon in most Sunday papers and its like paying so and so for it.. When they normally gave you some up+ deals and you could use a good coupon..
Hope that will change, especially since they are building a brand new Rite Aid really close to me..
Well hope everything enjoys they Memorial Day holiday!
Happy Shopping!

Well its official, Rite Aid has really cracked down on their coupon policy and it will be much harder now to get the great deals there.
Here are some of the main changes
Only (1) Coupon can be used per B1G1 FREE purchase, we may no longer use (2) coupons on these sales. That means no more coupons on the FREE item
You may not use a B1G1 FREE coupon along with a B1G1 FREE sale.
Rite Aid may accept up to 4 identical coupons for the same number of qualifying items as long as their is sufficient stock within the store managers discretion.
The office policy is here
A sad day for all those who enjoy the great savings at Rite Aid…
Not saying it will help but I am sure it won’t hurt anything by letting them know how unhappy we are with their new policies..
I say lets all give them our opinion.. They say our opinion counts, lets see if that’s true
Give them your opinion here
